Yukon First Nations Wildfire Announces Appointment of New Chief Executive Officer
Whitehorse, Yukon — December 5, 2025
The Yukon First Nations Wildfire (YFNW) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Nick Mauro as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of YFNW.
Nick has been with YFNW since its inception and has helped shape the organization from the ground up. Over the years, Nick has served in a variety of leadership roles across operations and business development, gaining knowledge in the field and helping forge the strategic direction of the organization. This experience has uniquely positioned Nick to lead YFNW into its next chapter of growth and innovation.
“I’m honoured to continue serving Yukon First Nations Wildfire in this new capacity,” said Nick. “YFNW has become a recognized leader in indigenous wildfire management, training, and community empowerment. I’m excited to continue building strong partnerships across the Yukon and beyond.”
As CEO, Nick will focus on expanding opportunities for Yukon First Nations through innovative partnerships, enhanced training programs, and continued collaboration with government and industry partners. With a forward-looking approach, Nick aims to strengthen YFNW’s role as a leading Indigenous wildfire organization and to pioneer creative, community-driven solutions that support all aspects of YFNW’s growth.
